Suffolk is the 8th largest county in England by area and the 31st largest by population. Like its immediate neighbour to the north Norfolk, Suffolk is a rural county, comprising a mainly wetland habitat - including the Broads - and arable land. The county also borders Cambridgeshire to the west and Essex to the south. As of the 2001 census there were 90,029 people aged over 70 living in Suffolk, approximately 13.4% of the total population.
