Buckinghamshire is a Home County with a population of more than 700,000. The county borders Oxfordshire to the west, Northamptonshire to the north, Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire to the east and Berkshire/Hillingdon to the south. Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire, although the best known city is Milton Keynes, which is a unitary authority but does form part of the county for certain functions. The county is home to the world famous Pinewood Studios and Dorney Lake at Eton Dorney was used as the rowing venue for the 2012 summer Olympics.
