Waltham Forest is situated to the north east of central London with the boroughs of Enfield, Haringey and Hackney bordering to the west, Redbridge to the east, Newham to the south and the county of Essex to the north. A local engineer, Frederick Bremer, is credited with building the first British built petrol-driven car between 1892 and 1894. The vehicle is now on display in the Vestry House Museum.
