North West England comprises five counties; Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. Its largest cities are Manchester and Liverpool. In all, about seven million people live in the region. The North West is famous for its textiles and sports clothing firms such as Reebok and JJB Sports, which are based in the region.
