At Quarry Mount Residential Care Home in the Old Town area of Swindon, there is a warm "home from home" ambiance.  The clean, comfortable and high quality accommodation has pleasant décor and provides all the amenities needed by 32 elderly people. The home has a family atmosphere due to the efforts made to ensure that the health and wellbeing of the residents always come first.

Staff & Services

The home is staffed by a dedicated, professional, caring and well-trained team of managers and care workers, and run with a determination to abide by all the latest rules and regulations. The home's mission statement is "to provide care with compassion and commitment", and it provides permanent or respite care.

As well as offering home comforts and 24-hour care for elderly people, Quarry Mount specializes in caring for older people with various degrees of dementia. A full training program covering all of the required areas ensures that the care workers have a good understanding of how to cope with the complexities of increasing frailty in people suffering from this unfortunate illness.

Every prospective new resident has a full assessment before admission to verify that Quarry Mount can provide the care that is needed. A comprehensive care package is created after admission, and this is updated regularly to ensure any changes in the care needs of the resident are properly met.

Benefits

Benefits at the home include good and varied home-cooked food, delicious home baking, special diets catered for, a weekly in-house doctor's surgery and regular visits from other care professionals, a visiting hairdresser, visiting clergy and with regular therapy, entertainment, special events and local outings. The home has a lovely secure, south-facing garden with lawns, borders and seating.

A feature of the home is a pair of semi-detached bungalows in its rear grounds. These provide a homely environment for four less dependant residents for assisted living, with the benefit of access to all the facilities provided in the main house.

Standards

Quarry Mount, which is inspected by a government regulator, aims to meet or wherever possible to exceed the National Minimum Standards that cover all aspects of care provision, environment, staffing and management of the home.

The owners of Quarry Mount are proud that it is recognised as an "Investor in People". Its last IIP assessment was passed with flying colours and the assessor said she was very impressed with all aspects of the business.
