Palmersdene is a purpose built home, circa 1990. It is owned and maintained by Anchor Trust, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of support, care and housing for older people. Set in a quiet location and in its own beautiful grounds, Palmersdene is close to the local shops, pubs and post office. Most rooms have lovely views of the gardens parkland.
At Palmersdene, we provide residential care for 40 older people (male and female) with physical and mental health needs, moderate dementia and moderate learning disabilities. We also provide a special Dementia Unit. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Dining • There are two dining rooms – Supper is served wither in lounges or in your rooms if you prefer • Breakfast is served in the dining room or you can enjoy a continental breakfast brought you your room • You can choose from the varied and seasonal menus each day • Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements are catered for
Leisure activities • Library with large print books, audio and video tapes • Newspapers can be delivered to your room • We have gardens with pleasant areas to sit out in summer • Games available such as board games and carpet bowls • We have a music system and a piano • We have a hairdressing salon • Events are arranged including arts and crafts, day trips, entertainers and exercise classes • You are encouraged to play a part in daily living activities which can include vegetable preparation, gardening and light house-keeping
