Cranlea is a purpose-built home, circa 1988. It is owned and maintained by Anchor Trust, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of support, care and housing for older people. Set in a quiet location and in its own well-maintained grounds, Cranlea is close to local shops, excellent bus and metro routes to the coast, Newcastle City Centre and Newcastle Airport.

At Cranlea, we provide residential care for 39 older people (male and female) who have physical disabilities, moderate dementia, some mental health needs, moderate learning disabilities and those who want to maintain their independence but now find that they need some practical and personal care. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

• Breakfast is served in the dining room or you can enjoy breakfast brought to your room
• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

Leisure activities
• We have a library including large print books, audio and video tapes
• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room
• Cranlea has well maintained garden to sit out in summer and residents can help with gardening 
• Residents can help with light house-keeping if they wish
• CD/stereo and video players are provided in the lounge
• Games are available such as dominoes, board games, carpet bowls, etc
• Regular events and entertainment are organised at our home each week

• The District Nurse visits by arrangement
• The Physiotherapist visits by arrangement
• Optician – visiting and local optical servies are available
• Holistic therapists – details of local providers are available

The town centre of Newcastle is 7 miles away and we have the following facilities nearby: Metro Station, Gosforth Swimming Pool and the Metro Centre, which is 4 miles away
