For over 30 years Anchor Trust has been providing a unique range of support, housing and care services to older people throughout England. So much so, that we are now the largest provider of housing and care in the country and as we are a not-for-profit organisation, you can rest assured of our complete dedication and service at all times.

One of Anchor Trust's services is Anchor Homes, a residential care service. Whilst you will be safe and secure knowing that you'll have 24- hour personal and practical support- such as help with your bathing and housework, we will always ensure that you retain your quality of life. So you'll have privacy, choice and independence too- in a warm, friendly environment.

Elizabeth Court
Elizabeth Court is situated in Caterham Village, a quiet residential area in Caterham-on-the-Hill, Surrey. The Village was completely redeveloped in 2000 although many features of the former Barracks still remain. The new Anchor Home, Elizabeth Court is close to local shops while the bustling shopping centre in Caterham Valley is just a short bus ride away. The local facilities are still under development with plans for a community centre, cafe and supermarket on the village site.

Elizabeth Court is home to 58 older people. There are five living areas with between 10 and12 single en-suite bedrooms in each group.  Each area has a lounge and dining room with kitchen, which you can use when you please. As well as longer-term care, Elizabeth Court is also able to offer short-term breaks when there are rooms available.

Comfort and independence
Eastlake is on three floors, which can be accessed by lift or stairs. The home is set around a pretty courtyard with shrubs, flowers and seating where you can sit and relax. There are further established gardens to enjoy around the outer perimeter of the home.

Elizabeth Court was designed and built to provide the highest levels of comfort and security whilst promoting independence. Each bedroom has its own en-suite facility with toilet and washbasin and the plumbing arrangements for you to install your own shower if you wish. There are telephone and television aerial points and plenty of electrical sockets in all bedrooms. Each bedroom has an individual homely feel with quality furniture and colour co-ordinated decor and fabrics. You can of course add your own touch by bringing your own treasured possessions with you.

In the lounge there is a television and music system for you to enjoy, as well as a dining room with kitchenette where you are welcome t entertain guests and make your own tea, coffee and light snacks. Main meals are cooked in the central kitchen and served in the unit dining rooms. There is always a choice of menu and we will take into consideration your individual likes and dislikes when preparing and planning meals.

If you need any personal items such as toiletries and confectionery, there is a small shop on the ground floor for you to purchase from.

24 hour care
At Elizabeth Court you will find an experienced manager who is supported by sensitive and committed care staff, all trained to be able to discuss your own individual needs and wishes, so that you receive the exact level of assistance that suits you and your lifestyle. There is of course a risk in every day life and we will work with you in managing and reducing the level of risk whilst still enabling you to maintain your independence.

Your privacy will be respected and we maintain a policy of not disturbing you whilst you are in your room unless otherwise agreed. Staff will at all times, knock at your door and wait to be invited in unless other arrangements have been requested by you. What's more, you'll have the added security of knowing that each room is equipped with a call system.

Social and leisure activities
We will always try to create a friendly, happy atmosphere at Elizabeth Court. Social and recreational activities take place daily and are arranged jointly by residents and staff.

The type of activities can range from social afternoons and evenings with entertainment to visits to the local town or the theatre. A min-bus is available if you need transport. Near to Elizabeth Court, the Brunton Centre is a local meeting place, which, hosts activities such as keep fit, while Queens Park has an active bowling club. The choice is yours and the opportunities endless so we are always open to your ideas.

Quality service
At Elizabeth Court we strive to provide a quality service at all times. However, we recognise that you may on occasion feel the need to comment on the service you receive. Within Anchor Trust we have developed a procedure, which is designed to give you a speedy response and conclusion to any concerns or complaints you may have. A copy of the complaints procedure will be available to you when you meet the Home's manger when you move in.
