Lying at the foot of the Surrey
Hills, in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, the estate is set in
48 acres of woodland and parkland with country gardens and its own lake. The
parkland has always been an important ingredient in the peaceful setting of
Birtley House Nursing Home.
Family owned and
run
Birtley House's greatest asset remains the continuity
of family management, which now spans over seventy years, together with their
determination to offer individual care in a warm and welcoming
environment. The 'family home' atmosphere has always been a key
factor in the popularity of Birtley with residents and their own families and
new generations are now moving in who remember parents or even grandparents in
the Home!
Our
Philosophy
The friendly atmosphere created at Birtley House
ensures that independence, privacy and dignity, combined with our high standards
of care are met. Whilst companionship and help is on hand, we welcome residents
to invite their family, friends and guests for meals and recreational and social
activities. The peaceful setting of the gardens, lake and walks are there to be
enjoyed by everyone. Continuing the tradition of three generations as a family
occupied country house our 'lifestyle' provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere
for personal and loving care in a secure and worry-free environment.
In keeping with our family lifestyle, we provide a
comprehensive range of services and facilities. They represent the essentials in
progressive, medical professionalism and offer independent choice.
Nursing
Care
Birtley House Nursing Home is managed by a full-time
Matron together with a Deputy Matron and a large team of trained Nurses and Care
Assistants. 24 hour support is provided in a professional and caring
manner.
Social care and
activities
A full and active lifestyle is encouraged with
freedom for residents to control their own daily routine, wherever possible,
keeping rules and regulations to a minimum.
Birtley House prides itself on a very varied
activities programme. Full of imagination and thought the aim is to attract as
many residents as possible to join in the structured activities or outings which
take place 4 times a week. In addition, a day is kept free for more personal
one-to-one care.
