Nynehead Court has been accredited the highest possible grading of EXCELLENT with 3 stars by the statutory regulatory body (CSCI), confirming the Court’s commitment to the attainment of the highest standards

Gracious Retirement Living
Nynehead Court is an exclusive Residential Care Home for the discerning resident seeking gracious retirement living. The magnificent Grade II* listed 17th Century manor house, nestles at the centre of the award winning ‘Best Small Village in Somerset’.  It has been associated with care since 1949 and has been tastefully converted and upgraded over the years to provide every modern convenience and level access, without losing any of the character that might be expected of an elegant country house.

The Court sits in 13 acres of level parkland, with formal gardens, a parterre, pinetum, icehouse, summer house, croquet lawn and a beautiful 13th century Grade 1 Listed Parish Church. The grounds are open to the public, whilst the Court and church are the ‘hub’ of the village providing the venue for regular meetings, activities and Parish events.

The public rooms include elegantly furnished drawing and dining rooms, a library, and a meeting room, providing ample opportunity for guests to relax or to meet visitors in different venues.  Aperitifs are served in the drawing room before dinner, where a comforting log fire blazes in the colder months, and wines are available with meals.
Most private rooms are over sized bed-sitting rooms with their own ensuite, telephone and TV points and with plenty of room for personal effects and favourite items of furniture.

Residents enjoy a hotel style of living, combining comfort and a high degree of independence with the reassuring security of the best possible support and care for those who want it. There is also a flat within the main building.  An orangery, assisted living apartments and close care housing are due to be added towards the end of the year.

Care
Care is discreetly based around individual needs and is discussed with individuals and their families to ensure that personal needs are met.  Whilst some residents may need little or no care, and may simply enjoy the company of other like minded people within a secure and caring environment, others may need full 24 hour care. A full compliment of professional trained staff are on duty 24 hours each day to meet and adjust to the changing needs of individuals.

We understand the effects of memory impairment in old age and the need to provide an environment that overcomes the fear and anxiety of the unknown, for both the resident and their family. Residents are treated as individuals and cared for with respect and dignity within a safe, comfortable and homely environment, which provides stimulation and encourages independence where appropriate.  Major emphasis is placed in the production of a varied and stimulating monthly programme of events to meet the differing likes and individual preferences of the residents.

Nynehead Court has a close relationship with the staff at the Nuffield Hospital.  Doctors and community nurses from local practices visit Nynehead Court on a regular basis. Residents may retain their own GP or arrangements can be made to register with an appropriate GP nearby.

Private therapies, reflexology and chiropody treatment are all included within the all-inclusive fee, as well as any transportation and escort requirements to attend hospital appointments and GP surgeries.
