Horton Cross is a Care Home for the elderly, providing personal support from highly trained and dedicated Carers and qualified Nurses, some of our Carers with NVQ Level 3 qualification. All residents have a personal holistic care plan which are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that all their needs are met. We aim to exceed all statutory, regulatory and clinical standards at the Home.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

We provide spacious, airy and well-lit rooms with ensuite facilities. Residents are encouraged to make the room their own by adding personal favoured belongings.

Our dining room is first class, offering a varied, interesting and well-balanced menu. Meals are served to suit the convenience of residents and can be served in the privacy of bedrooms or at the tables in our dining room.

Horton Cross has controlled security access, full central heating, modern fire detection and control equipment, electronic nurse call system, full size passenger lift, parker baths and specialist patient lifting equipment.

We have a large communal lounge, featuring multi-channel T.V. The residents have the use of superb spacious gardens consisting of lawn, trees, shrubs and a fountain.

Adequate parking facilities available for all visitors and a warm welcome will always await you!

A structured recreational programme is in operation involving all residents; this includes outings, entertainment and activities suitable for all residents. We also have a library facility including large print books, audio and video tapes. We have a hairdresser and a registered foot health practitioner who visits weekly and fortnightly. All other personal services including Dentist, Physiotherapy, Newspapers, Magazines, etc can be arranged. We also have an in-house Shop which sells toiletries and confectionery items.

The residents are encouraged to meet together regularly with Matron and carers to put forward their own ideas and suggestions.

Doctors from local practices visit Horton Cross on a regular basis or by individual appointment. Residents may choose to retain their own family G.P, alternatively we can make the necessary introduction to a new practice.

Whilst always striving to achieve higher standards of care, we are proud of the service we offer and continually encourage staff to maintain their on going training programme supported by the management of the Home.

- ‘We strive to ensure the Home is run with a ‘home from home’ happy and relaxed atmosphere but at the same time employing a good safe, secure and professional standard of Nursing Care.’

(Extract from the Home’s Philosophy of Care)
