The Ridings is a purpose built home, circa 1996. It is owned and maintained by Anchor Trust, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of support, care and housing for older people. Set in a quiet location and in its own beautiful grounds, The Ridings is close to the local shops, health centre and pubs. Most rooms have lovely views of the well-kept gardens.

 

We provide residential care for 41 older people with varying physical and mental needs and for those who want to maintain their independence, but now find that they need some extra help. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• Breakfast is served in the dining room or breakfast can be brought to your room

• Supper is served either in the lounge or can be enjoyed in your room

• We offer a wide range of dining at The Ridings.

You can choose from the varied and seasonal menus each day

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for.

 

Leisure activities

• Library with large print books, audio and video tapes

• We have pleasant gardens with an area to sit out in summer

• We have a selection of greetings cards for sale

• Games available such as board games and carpet bowls

• We have a stereo and a piano

• Residents and our Activities Co-ordinator arrange events including quizzes, arts and crafts, day trips, entertainers and exercise classes

• You can play a full part in daily living activities including gardening and light house-keeping

• We have a hairdressing salon.
