Conveniently situated within
walking distance
of Harrogate's attractive and bustling town centre, Southland's building dates from 1870
and was formerly one of Harrogate's premier hotels. The home has been carefully
converted to offer every modern convenience yet retain much of its original
character.
The home has been carefully converted to offer every
modern convenience yet retain much of its original character. A recent £1.5
million refurbishment has further enhanced the home and provided a number of
attractive and relaxing communal areas. The former ballroom, which overlooks and
provides access to the landscaped gardens, now incorporates a library and lounge
area. Pre dinner drinks are served in the bar whilst the finest cuisine, freshly
prepared by our chef, is served in the elegant restaurant. Southlands offers two
further lounges plus a relaxing tea and coffee lounge which as well as serving
speciality teas, coffees and fresh cakes and pastries, provides a meeting place
for residents and guests. All of the bright and airy bedrooms have en-suite
facilities and have been beautifully refurbished and decorated. Activities
include flower arranging, wine appreciation, sherry mornings, arts and crafts,
quizzes, concerts and trips to local places of interest.
