Townend Close
Townend Close is a purpose built home, circa 1979. The home is owned and maintained by Anchor Trust, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of support, care and housing for older people. Set in a quiet location and in its own beautiful grounds, Townend Close is near to local amenities and excellent bus routes into nearby towns. Most rooms have lovely views of the well-kept gardens and surrounding country side
At Townend Close, we provide residential care for 39 older people (male and female) with varying physical and mental frailties, who wish to maintain their independence but now find that they need some practical and personal care. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

• You can choose from the menus each day
• Supper is served in the lounge or can be enjoyed in your room

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Our in-house library offers a wide range of books including large print and video tapes
• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room
• Townend Close has a well-maintained garden area, patio and seated areas, ideal for the summer

• Games are available such as board games, skittles, etc.
• Our in-house shop is full of ideas for presents and sells confectionery, toiletries and greetings cards
• We have a hairdressing salon
• Regular events and entertainment are organised at our home each week
