Our registered nurses and carers are trained to ensure that the privacy, dignity and choice of each resident is respected.

Committed to quality nursing and residential care...

Care

At Southpark, care is based around each person's individual needs. All of our residents need 24 hour nursing assistance however, whatever the need, care is delivered with patience, kindness and understanding.

The care plan for each resident is exclusive, and aimed at promoting health and independence. Residents and where
appropriate their families, are involved as far as is practical in the decisions regarding their care.

Doctors from local practices visit Southpark on a regular basis or by individual appointment. Residents may choose to retain their own family GP, alternatively we can make the necessary introduction to a new practice.

We very much recognise the importance of personal, individual and resident focused care. To achieve this, good communication between all members of the care team,
be they nurses, carers, relatives or doctors is essential.

Facilities

Southpark has TV lounges and a quiet sitting room (with both smoking and non-smoking areas). Separate dining rooms, where residents can join the company of others at meal times, are also an important feature of the home.

The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist and a range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirement. All the laundry for our residents is undertaken by the home.

A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home for the benefit of residents. Visitors are welcome at any time and in addition all our facilities are extended to close friends and family.

Choice of Foods

Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available. Meals are served to suit the convenience of residents and can be served
in the privacy of bedrooms or at the table in our dining rooms. The entertainment of guests and arrangement of small private parties attracts a small extra charge.

Types of Stay

Whilst most of our residents live permanently at Southpark, there is a regular number of returning guests who choose to stay with us for shorter periods of days or weeks. Many people find a break from their own home an essential tonic. Others may choose to rest with us following a period of poorer health and recuperate at the home.

We fully appreciate the stress associated with leaving home to live in a new location, and are happy to accept new residents for an agreed trial period at the end of which there would be no further obligation.

Admission & Fees

Prior to admission, each new resident is encouraged to visit the home to satisfy themselves that the environment and ambience is to their liking. Our Home Manager will also wish
to discuss the personal preferences of each prospective resident and whatever care needs may be required. This is essential to confirm that we are able to provide the correct environment for each individual.

The fees for care are dependent upon the choice of room available and the individual's requirements and needs. Arrangements for the payment of fees will be agreed with residents prior to admission.

Philosophy of Care

We are committed to providing the highest possible standards of care.

Residents will be treated as individuals and cared for with respect and dignity within a safe, comfortable and homely environment which provides stimulation and encourages independence where appropriate.

For further information and to arrange a visit, please contact the Home Manager at any time.
