The Beeches is a Dementia care home, specialising in care for people with Alzheimers set in the heart of East Anglia near the Norfolk and Suffolk border. The Beeches stands in 2 acres of land and was originally a rectory, it has been extended over the years to provide a variety of room styles varying from the old and gracious to contemporary.

The majority of the Home is on the ground floor with four bedrooms on the first floor, which are accessed by 1 staircase and a stair lift. The day spaces are on the ground floor and include a reception hall, one large communal lounge and a new conservatory, together with two small intimate day rooms and a dining room. We also have two courtyards which are both in bloom during the summer.

The Home is registered by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) to provide Residential care for 36 dependent elderly Residents. We are an approved provider with Norfolk Social Services. We are a member of the National Care Homes Association. The local nearby towns are Thetford, Attleborough and Norwich.

The Home is officially inspected by:

  • CSCI
  • Norfolk Fire Office
  • Environmental Health Office
  • Health and Safety

Catering

The Beeches offers a high standard of 'cuisine' organised and planned by the cook in conjunction with the Care team.

We aim to offer a wide range of alternatives and are committed to a policy of using fresh produce, and try not to repeat the same meal in a three weekly cycle.

Each meal will provide for a choice of main courses and deserts, and the object is to offer a variety of dishes that are both appetising and nutritious, ensuring that:-

  • Special diets are catered for
  • There is a choice of where to eat
  • Likes and dislikes are recorded in the 'care plan' and regularly monitored
  • Weekly menus are published
  • A resident may have a guest join them for a meal, by arrangement
  • Residents who require help are treated with dignity

Entertainment

The Home has a wide range of daily activities including music visits and sing a longs, we encourage residents to go for regular walks accompanied by members of staff. Our residents also enjoy nail varnishing and reminiscence therapy. Our Hairdresser visits once a week and we also have regular visits from a Chiropodist. We also hold an annual winter bazaar and a summer fete.

Spiritual Needs

We enjoy regular visits from Catholic and Anglican Ministers.
