We are a small family run home, offering a family type environment for eight clients.  The primary need on admission is learning disabilities. We do not have a name as we feel that it can label clients on occasions. We have a very low turnover of clients. A lot of our clients have been living with us since our inception in the early 1990s. Clients that have left our care have gone on to independent living, or a higher level of care, leaving the opportunity for another client to enjoy the benefit of our services. All of our clients’ needs are catered for on an individual basis, offering as much, or as little support as is needed.

We have no set menus, or meal times. Our clients decide on what they want to eat on a daily basis, and the staff cook it with them, often cooking up to three separate meals. They also help in compiling shopping lists, and planning what meals will be available that week. We provide all basic toiletries at no extra charge.

We have a variety of bedrooms in the first and second floors; 2 singles with hand basins, 2 singles with en-suites, and 2 doubles with en-suites. Both double rooms have a separate smaller furnished bedroom to be used as the clients wish. All bedrooms are provided with televisions. There are also 2 communal bathrooms. Down stairs we have 2 lounges, with digital televisions, video and DVD players, an Office, and a Kitchen that our clients have unlimited access to. They are able to make themselves snacks and drinks as required, at no extra charge.

Although we do not have a minibus, we do have access to one when required, and most staff have cars. All transport costs are met by the clients’ mobility allowance. We arrange regular activities and outings to fit in with individual needs. We usually have at least one holiday per year, in either one or two groups, depending on the clients’ requests and requirements. We also provide appropriate celebrations for birthdays and Christmas at no extra charge.

Mrs P Milligan is the registered owner, and her son Mr Darryl Milligan MCMI is the registered manager. His Wife Mrs Jo-Anne Milligan is Assistant Manager. We then have 3 Support Workers and a Domestic. All care staff either have, or are near the completion of NVQ level 2 or above. Between us we have a large and varied amount of experience and skills, which suit the needs of our clients. We have an ongoing training program to accommodate any changes in needs.

We charge the local rate as set by Wirral Borough Council. Please do not hesitate to contact the manager using any of the above means. If we do not have a vacancy at the time, we will inform you as soon as we do.
