Our Philosophy
At Douglas Bank we offer long term as well as respite and convalescent care.  Douglas Bank is situated in beautiful countryside on the outskirts of the canal-side Village of Appley Bridge, yet is within easy reach by road and rail of the whole of the North West of England.

Douglas Bank has been converted from the Dower House and buildings adjoining the original 17th Century listed farmhouse with private gardens to tempt one out at every opportunity.

Every Home Comfort
Home cooking is a speciality with a varied and nutritious choice of menu. Special diets are catered for. Our elegant dining room provides an ideal setting for our residents to enjoy their meals in complete comfort.

At Douglas bank there are 25 single rooms and 5 double rooms, the majority with an en-suite bathroom. Every room has full central heating, an electronic nurse-call system, modern fire detection and control equipment, telephone point and television point. Residents are welcome to use their own furniture in their room at Douglas Bank to create their own home within a home.

Each room has a delightful view over the gardens or surrounding countryside.

Visitors are welcome at any time.
