Location.

High Brake House is situated on the main road running into Clitheroe, a busy market town.  It has excellent transport links into the town and is within walking distance of the town centre. It enjoys views of the beautiful countryside with Pendle Hill to the front and Waddington Fell to the rear.  The home is set in a large garden which residents can enjoy during the summer.

CSCI Report.

High Brake House has been given the highest rating of ‘excellence’ by the CSCI.  It received comments such as “The staff are really lovely, you only have to buzz and the staff are there” and “All the staff are friendly and caring, they are always ready and willing to answer any questions or requests you may have”.

Brierley Care Ltd who own High Brake house have run the home for the last five years.  It is a family run concern with a brother and sister team. Mr M Brierley and Mrs H Townson running the home. Mrs H Townson is the Registered Manager, the staffing team at High Brake House are qualified in National Vocational Qualifications in care, as well as a host of other specialist courses. Management members hold a minimum of NVQ Level 4 in Care. All staff work closely together to create a warm friendly environment for all residents. Our aim is for High Brake House to feel like home from home, as such we encourage residents to remain as independent as possible and feel a valued member of the household. Activities run daily, these include skittles, baking, exercises, local day trips, and a WII games console.

Care

High Brake House aims to provide the best quality of care, we offer holiday or long stay care as well as day care. Private and public funded residents are welcome.  24 hour care assistance is given by fully trained staff. A care plan is developed for each individual resident. highlighting their needs and wishes. All appropriate families and professional representatives are involved in the care planning process.
Doctors from local practices visit the home, but residents can chose to retain their own GP.

Nutrition.

The cook prepares a wide variety of food chosen by the residents from the menu.  All produce is sourced from local retailers.  All food is home cooked and baked. Meals are served in the large dinning room but on request can be served in the privacy of your bedroom.  Special diets are also catered for
