The home offers a short break service. Canderavon House is in Queen Street Stonehouse and is close to the local bus routes. Car parking facilities are available though limited. The parking area and entrance to Canderavon House is obstruction free and conveniently sited for access to the main entrance. The main shopping area and local amenities are only a five minute walk away.
The home is on two floors. It has four separate wings, offering care to frail older people.
Each wings has a communal lounge and dining area where you will find facilities to make snacks, tea and coffee for you and your visitors. Visitors are welcome at any time.
You will have a private single room with en-suite facilities. This consists of a toilet and wash hand basin. If you prefer a shower or bath, facilities are close to all rooms. The furniture, soft furnishings and décor are all provided and maintained to a high standard in each room.
If you wish to have your own private telephone, sockets are in place and this can be arranged (there will be a charge for this service). There is a public telephone available at the reception area.
The home offers a lovely garden area with patio and gazebo.

As part of our admission process and to help make your stay as safe as possible, there will be a requirement for two photographs of you to be taken by the staff (with your agreement). One photograph will be used for the administration of medication sheet and the second will be used for your personal plan.
Our aim is to provide a home for you within a friendly and homely environment where care is delivered by a highly motivated and trained team offering personalised care and support to meet your individual assessed needs.
Staff
Canderavon House is staffed 24 hours a day. Staff are employed in line with the Council's Recruitment Procedures which includes a police check. All employees work as a team to ensure that the services and care on offer are of a high standard.
Nutrition
The home offers a nutritional diet with a varied menu.
If you have special dietary requirements the cook will be happy to discuss this with you.
Medication & Health
You can keep your present family GP if the surgery is within the geographical area of the home. If not possible we will help you to obtain another.
If you can manage your own medication then you will be encouraged to continue with this otherwise staff can assist.
Hearing your Voice, Being Involved in Decisions Affecting You
You will be invited to attend meetings on a regular basis to discuss the day to day running of the care home. Your contributions will always be welcomed.
Social, Cultural and Religious Beliefs
It is important that your social, cultural and religious beliefs or faith are known and respected by staff and that you are given the opportunity and support you may need to practice your beliefs.
Health & Safety
The fire and protection system together with fire equipment, is regularly checked and the home is fitted with a sprinkler system.
Smoking is permitted in private apartments only. There is a call system in all areas of the home so that you can summon help at any time.
You will be offered a key to your own room for the safety of your belongings.
The home has a controlled entry door entry system.
