ABOUT US

Arberglen is a small home, with a big heart.  We have 22 beds, and are able to offer intimate, personal care to each and every resident, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A team of competent and confident local care staff deliver a quality care service, consistently. Our aim is ‘to treat each individual as if they were family’. We know the importance of trust and respect and work hard to communicate effectively with all parties involved to offer our residents an excellent quality of life and a safe and homely environment.

MOVING IN

Before deciding whether Arberglen is for you, we invite you to spend a morning or afternoon
at the care home. You are welcome to stay for lunch or tea to sample the wonderful home cooked meals and speak to kitchen staff about any preferences you have. The visit allows you to spend time with other residents, use the facilities and meet the staff. During this time you are free to ask questions about life in the home, and we hope you will receive reassuring answers. We anticipate that you will find the opportunity to visit enjoyable and comfortable. If you are happy with what you see at Arberglen, and wish to move ‘in’ we then agree a move in date with yourself, your family and your Social Worker.

SERVICES

Arberglen offers older adults intimate 24 hour residential care and support. We have 20 single rooms, and 1 double room for couples wishing to remain together or if you prefer to have overnight companionship with another resident. Rooms are located on ground and first floor level. A stairlift allows residents to move freely from one floor to another. The stairlift is supervised by staff during operation to ensure your safety.

Each room has a single bed, wash sink, wardrobe, bedside table with lockable drawer and easy chair. Rooms are decorated to feel homely and you are encouraged to bring your own possessions to develop a feeling of familiarity and belonging. All rooms are fitted with smoke detectors, have fire doors and an automatic fire alarm system. You are able to lock your bedroom door. All bedrooms and public rooms have emergency call systems fitted which allow you to summon staff in the event of an emergency. You can be safe in the knowledge that trained staff will be with you when you need it.

HEALTH

It is our priority to keep you in the best of health. Our staff are trained to look out for symptoms of unease, pain or distress. When we spot symptoms we will explore with you, the symptoms you are feeling, and contact the GP or hospital accordingly. During periods of illness you can be assured that you will be well looked after and nursed back to good health.

Arberglen has built up and maintained good relationships with local healthcare professionals in the community and at local hospitals. On arriving at Arberglen we will ask you about your medical needs and ensure that you have access to the appropriate specialists. GPs, Dieticians, Chiropodists, Dentists, Community Psychiatric Nurses and district nurses are all regular visitors to the care home and will meet you and respond to your needs as they arise.
