This South London home provides care for older members of the Jewish community. It is the largest home in the UK with accommodation for 250 residents. It provides residential care, nursing care, has a special dedicated dementia unit and also has respite facilities. It therefore caters for the whole spectrum of needs. All rooms have private ensuite facilities and it uniquely has its own in-house medical practical, pharmacy with pharmacist, occupational therapy and physiotherapy departments, as well as facilities for dentistry, audiology, ophthalmology, optician service, chiropody, a visiting dietician and much more.
The Home provides “care for life” regardless of any deterioration in health. It places a huge emphasis on stimulation, entertainment and educational opportunities. Nightingale’s highly experienced Activities Team strives daily to understand each resident’s needs to help them pursue their own interests. Activities include discussion groups, French/German conversation, Tai Chi and keep fit programmes, poetry group, music recitals, monthly book club, tea parties, Bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscence and much much more – in other words, something for every taste.
