Thank you for considering Cornerstone Housing. This information is designed to help you gain an insight into our beliefs, aims and the passion we hold to undertake our role.

We would wish to stress, however, that words and statements are easy to compile, the proof of the pudding, must be in the eating. We always recommend that you visit, see the homes for yourselves and quiz us about our role - if we shape up, and you share our enthusiasm, everything should fall into place.

The Old Vicarage, Lodge and Coach House were a former vicarage, dating back to the 17th Century with additions in the 18th and 19th Centuries. The homes are situated very close to the centre of Hungerford, with all its facilities, and also back onto open countryside with fabulous walks through protected marshlands and along the Kennet and Avon canal.

Hungerford is a traditional market town (market on Wednesdays) with supermarkets, chemist and a wide selection of shops, restaurants and pubs - we have our own leisure centre, library and other active clubs and local organisations.

The Old Vicarage has been acquired to give the people who make it their home enough space to spread out, enough freedom to be an individual, have pleasant surroundings to be proud of and be content with. We will of course be working towards independence, self-development, interest and education in all aspects of life. It will not be just providing occupation of the day, our programme has been designed to ensure that several different activities overlap and work towards the same goals.

We hope you will share our enthusiasm and excitement in the creation of these homes, as through hard labour, considerable investment and with great passion, we create exciting, stable, secure and long lasting homes.
